Mike Lerner is an Academy Award–nominated documentary producer and director known for creating powerful, character-driven films that explore global politics, social justice, and human resilience. He began his career in the late 1980s and has since produced and directed documentaries for major broadcasters and platforms including BBC, Channel 4, HBO, PBS, Discovery, and others. His work consistently focuses on people living at the intersection of personal struggle and historic change, often in regions affected by conflict, repression, or political upheaval.
