In a world dominated by chaos, Abel appears in the gazes of shepherd men surviving on the borders of the wandering pastures between Sardinia and Palestine, silent witnesses of conflicting daily lives. The film offers a collective portrait in which the shepherds grapple with the geopolitical contradictions of the present.

Director's

bio

Fabian Volti is a photographer, cinematographer, and director. He graduated in Political Science from the University of Sassari and furthered his studies in art photography in Florence. In Berlin and at the Complutense University of Madrid, he specialized in audiovisual languages and documentary as tools for social investigation, while also exploring cinema as a form of research. In 2007, he founded the Sardinian filmmaker and photographer collective 4CaniperStrada and the film production company Roda Film. He is the author of numerous photographic reports, exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions, including the most recent Luci Oltre le Sbarre, a show and publication published by Emuse on the former panoptic prison of San Sebastiano in Sassari, realized in collaboration with Antigone. He lives and works in Sardinia, dedicating himself to visual research and the production of short films and documentaries, both as a director and cinematographer. His works have been presented at international festivals, screenings, and academic contexts. Among his most notable films are: Luci a mare (2015), Strascico a Nord (2015), Il Civico Mercato di Sassari (2015), R-esistenze (2017) and Abele (2025).
