From Ground Zero

From Ground Zero is a project that brings together short films by 22 filmmakers from Gaza. Launched by Palestinian director Rashid Masharawi, the initiative emerged amid the backdrop of the new conflict with Israel that broke out after the attacks of October 7, aiming to offer young filmmakers the opportunity to express themselves through their craft. Each film, lasting between 3 to 6 minutes, presents a unique perspective on the current reality in Gaza and the life experiences of its population, between the tragedy of the bombings and the spirit of survival of a people. With a mix of genres ranging from fiction to documentary, from animation to experimental cinema, From Ground Zero showcases a variety of stories that reflect the pain, joy, and hope of Gaza and testify to the vitality of its artistic scene, despite the terrible circumstances.
