At the end of the 21st century, Sardinia has become a lawless land, abandoned by its inhabitants who chose permanent exile in exchange for enormous sums of money. The island has become an autonomous nation, exploited by international investors for activities considered illegal anywhere else in the world, carried out without limits or oversight. Political power is based on the ability to attract capital, and for twenty-five years it has been firmly in the hands of Greca Laconi. An unknown political opponent unexpectedly amasses votes, while a group of young people, descendants of the first Sardinian emigrants, lands illegally on the island, dressed in guerrilla gear.
