The suspended life of a Palestinian family in the Gaza camp draws strength from its roots. After 57 years of statelessness, Om Mohammad, along with her children and grandchildren, remains deeply connected to a land they have never seen, a land filled with colours, scents, and sounds that live on in their hearts. In just 0.75 square kilometres, over 28,000 Palestinians navigate their own struggles, joys, disappointments, and hopes. This intricate reality is woven together through the story of the Syam family.

bio
Jawan Aklouk, a Palestinian director from Jordan, believes in the transformative power of video as a medium to express identity and foster human connections. She has worked as an assistant director in Jordan and Italy, collaborating with the Roya channel and the Netflix series Al Rawabi School for Girls. In Italy, she studied Video Design at IED and participated in several projects, including a documentary about the Jazzmi festival in Milan, collaborating with Basement Headquarter as an assistant director. Cinema is, for her, a bridge between human experiences, capable of opening new perspectives and challenging beliefs.
Gabriele Felice Savino, born in Bari and living in Milan, is a director who graduated in Video Design from the IED in Milan. He is co-founder of “Puro,” a production company, dedicated to videos for concerts and festivals, which has enabled him to cooperate with leading artists in the Italian music scene. With “Puro,” he has produced video clips and commercials. A deep lover of cinema, he aims to direct a feature film and continue uncovering new stories to bring to life.
